On September 30, the Hefei Nanfeihe Road (Jinxiu Avenue – Wanquanhe Road) project designed by MCC Huatian was officially opened to traffic. Following the Yinchuan West Shenyang Road (Mancheng North Street – Xinxiao Line) expressway project, this marks another achievement of MCC Huatian’s Urban Renewal Division, which serves local clients with technical expertise, further expanding the company’s project portfolio in urban expressway engineering.
The Nanfeihe Road sits at the boundary between Baohe District and Binhu New Area in Hefei. It is a vital north-south arterial corridor within Hefei’s “Five Horizontal and Seven Vertical” expressway network. Previously, the road was cut off by a missing segment, restricting regional traffic and creating inconvenience for local residents. The newly opened section from Jinxiu Avenue to Wanquanhe Road stretches approximately 1 km, classified as an urban expressway with six lanes in both directions. The project includes two newly built river-crossing bridges, together with supporting municipal facilities such as drainage pipe networks, non-motorized transport systems, landscape greening, lighting, monitoring and power pipelines. Notably, the design integrates waterfront landscapes, balancing municipal functions with urban quality improvement. The completed project eliminates the bottleneck of the disconnected road, greatly shortening travel distance across the river and significantly improving traffic efficiency. It provides strong impetus for Hefei’s urban upgrading and high-quality development.
Technical specialists from the Municipal Engineering Department of the Architecture Institute took local conditions into full consideration, maintained close communication with the client, and evaluated travel demands of surrounding communities. They actively coordinated and optimized road and bridge schemes to remedy deficiencies in the regional road network.
